What Counts as a Working Day?
A working day (or business day) is any Monday-through-Friday date. Weekends are always excluded; public holidays are excluded too if you select a holiday calendar in the calculator above.
Do the Start and End Dates Count?
That depends on you — use the "Include start date" and "Include end date" checkboxes above. Left unchecked, the count is strictly the working days that fall between the two dates.
Why Use Working Days Instead of Calendar Days?
Contracts, SLAs, shipping estimates, and payroll processing are almost always specified in working days, not calendar days — a deadline quoted as "10 working days" quietly stretches to 14 calendar days whenever two weekends fall in between.
Does This Account for Public Holidays?
Only if you choose a holiday calendar in the calculator above. By default, only weekends are excluded from the count.
