ULID Timestamp Decoder
Runs entirely in your browserPaste a full 26-character ULID — only the first 10 characters (highlighted) are used for the timestamp.
What is a ULID?
A ULID (Universally Unique Lexicographically Sortable Identifier) is a 128-bit identifier, like a UUID, but designed to sort chronologically as plain text — no parsing required.
It's 26 characters long, encoded in Crockford's Base32 (which excludes the easily-confused letters I, L, O, and U).
- First 10 characters: 48-bit millisecond timestamp
- Last 16 characters: 80 bits of randomness
- Case-insensitive, URL-safe, no hyphens
- Timestamp representable until the year 10889
ULID Structure
Only the first 10 (highlighted) characters encode the creation time.
How do I extract the timestamp from a ULID?
Paste the full ULID into the decoder above. Only the first 10 characters are used; they're decoded from Crockford's Base32 into a millisecond Unix timestamp and converted to a readable date instantly.
